The Mid Mod Ranch Project

Built in 1957, our mid century ranch style home in greater Meyerland, Houston was purchased by us in 2003. We want to preserve the craft of good design as the balance of aesthetics and utility that the era of modernism, within which our house was built, so well defines. Join us on our remodeling journey through the wonderful world of mid mod design.

Study and Guest Room

Above: vintage lounge-- a gift from our friend's mid century home in our neighborhood.
Herman Miller Aeron desk chair:
We carried the geology theme throughout the study with rock-colored paint and this earth globe fan:
Polished chrome Emtek doorknobs throughout the house:

We painted the horse-themed guest room the soothing color of grass:

Once again Jose Valadez and his guys from Painting and Home Remodeling did a great job renovating our study and guest room.  We added all new baseboards and crown molding, with new Emtek polished chrome doorknobs throughout.  Modern fans and recessed lighting completed the project.  With thanks to designer Debbie Gersh of Creativities for heading the project and arranging photos, art and diplomas!
